1.                 Complaints are received by this branch through higher officers, Human Right Commission, by post or directly from the complainant. Complaints regarding general disputes are being marked to the concerned departments for report within 15 days. After receiving the report from concerned department, the actions are taken as per the orders of Deputy Commissioner or Addl. Deputy Commissioner. After disposing off the complaints, the complainants are informed. Reports are being collected from the departments if the complaint is against the employee. If the employee is found guilty, his department is informed for taking action against that employee.

2.                 For the serious complaints, where the Deputy Commissioner orders an enquiry, the ADC / AC(Gr.) personally conduct the enquiry by calling  both the parties.

3.                 Complaint Branch also deals with grievances of the Govt. pensioners. For the redressal of their grievances, the complaint branch holds meetings under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner.

4.                 Under the Punjab Government's instructions, a District Grievances Redressal Committee is constituted. In this committee Deputy Commissioner and S. S. P. are official members and MPs, MLAs, Chairman Zila Prishad etc. are ex-officio members. There are many non-official members representing various sections of society. The AC (Gr.) is the member Secretary. It deals with the complaints received through committee members, MLA's. and M. Ps. & other complaints of serious nature for redressal of the same. The Chairman of the committee is nominated by the Government, not below the rank of minister.

                      A District Grievances Committee meeting is held every month to redress the complaints of the general public at the spot. The  member of this committee are as under

          A member of District Grievances committee present the complaints of the public in the District Grievances committee meeting and a report is obtained from the concerned Department. Report so received from the Concerned Departments  is discussed  in the coming in the District Grievances committee meeting. If any how Hon'ble  Minister does not preside over the meeting that the meeting is held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner.

          A Suwidha Camp is organized in different villages to facilitates  general public, where all concerned departments set up their Counters for entertaining complaints etc. In addition  to it if any one puts Grievances, the same is redressed  on the spot. A public man can also see the Hon'ble Minister, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner under whose Suwidha Camp is organized. In case the matter is  required to be investigated, the same is handed over to the officer of the concerned department for inquiry and report and receipt is issued to the applicant.
